Hey Reader,
this week I'm starting a new project that I'd like to take you on with me:
Over the next couple of weeks I'll research a topic I know nothing about to show how a tool like Tana can help with doing research for and then writing reports, essays, papers, and so on.
The topic that I'm going to research and write about:
Global Supply Chain Risks for the 3D Printing Industry
I know nothing about this topic, except that 3D printing is cool and that supply chains are important.
Why am I picking a topic I know nothing about instead of something else that I already have expertise in?
Two reasons:
1) I think this represents a "worst case" scenario for a tool like Tana. If a complete novice in a topic can use a tool like Tana to make quick progress, an expert is going to get even more out of using the tool.
2) I think it's more fun for you, as a reader, to follow along. I won't be someone who lectures about super intricate details, but I'll know just as much as you and we'll learn together. Much more fun.
Along the way I'll record quick videos that I'll post on X (formerly known as Twitter 🙄), and append to this thread:

You'll of course get the roll-up in your inbox through this newsletter!
At then end I'm planning to edit a full length video that shows off the full process.
I think this is going to be a really fun project, the first clip is here!
I hope you'll enjoy this series and thank you for reading/watching – talk to you soon!
Warmly,
Lukas / CortexFutura
PS: Needless to say, I'll be of course using the supertags and AI commands that are part of my fully-done-for-you Second Brain template Tanarian Brain. Check it out here!
I help you become a Tana and develop strong Knowledge Operations to turn information into action.
Hey Reader, it turns out that it's really easy to dictate directly into Tana and get an AI response – with just two shortcuts you can speak and get a response...it feels like magic, if I'm honest. I'm super excited to share this workflow with you, so check out the video here: If you want even more mindblowing AI things that are possible with Tana, check out Tana Node's video about setting up a Siri shortcut that lets you put tasks and fleeting notes and more directly from your Apple Watch...
Hey Reader, I've just published a new video and template about how to use Tana to build a system to write better AI prompts and how to use AI to come up with what's called "far analogies" for more creative problem solving! Check out the video here: And get the template directly here! The prompt I share for creating "far analogies" and the idea for it is based on work out of Joal Chan's lab – you can read the actual paper here, if you like. It's a cool paper! I also shared a clip on Twitter...
Hey Reader, I am SO excited to share with you that we now (finally!) have a native integration between Readwise and Tana! Previously getting all your highlights and notes from Readwise into Tana required basically manual copy paste or detours through other apps like the Raycast plugin that synced your highlights (manually). No more! In the video below I'll take you through how to set up the integration step by step and I'll also show you how to use Tana's AI features to get even more from...
